Aspiring or Already Published Writers:
Muskoka Authors Association Welcomes You!
Muskoka Authors Association cordially welcomes both professional and aspiring writers (and everyone in between). We pride ourselves on our mandate of authors helping authors. To that end, we have a great lineup of authors giving presentations and/or workshops on everything from memoirs to literary fiction to science fiction. Our educational sessions cover the craft of writing and the business of writing for those wanting traditional publishing tips and those looking to self-publish. In addition, we arrange events with literary agents and publishers to bring their insights to share with the group.
Mostly we are excited about the prospect of bringing together our strong Muskoka writing community under one umbrella to flourish, support each other, develop and enhance our respective writing careers. Currently, we have a number of wonderful but separate writing groups spread throughout Muskoka. We hope to unite the writing community to enjoy the benefits that come from shared resources and focus, while still serving all the varied needs and interests of these groups.
Our regular meetings are the 2nd Thursday of each month at the Bracebridge United Church, 46 Dominion Street, Bracebridge. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; the meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. We also offer weekend workshops and special events. Anyone interested can contact Membership Director, David Patterson at davidbrucepatterson.maa@gmail.com or 705-801-8074.
Membership is $95 per year for adults; $50 for students and includes all regular author meeting presentations and deep discounts on events and workshops.
The application can be completed and paid for below. If you’d prefer a paper application, you can download it here and pay by cheque or cash at one of our monthly meetings. The completed membership form and cheque can also be mailed to:
