Wendie Donabie, Author

Wendie Donabie is Co-Founder of Muskoka Authors Association. In her role as Vice-President, she handles promotions and banking.

As both a writer and visual artist, Wendie enjoys painting pictures with words and flavouring her poetry and prose with alliteration, similes and metaphors. When words won’t do the job, she turns to her easel and a fresh canvas. Today Wendie divides her time between her computer, her easel and Heron’s Nest Studio Gallery in Bracebridge where her art and that of other local artists is available for purchase.

Her work has been published in magazines and in poetry and literary collections. In 2014, she won Gold in an online magazine competition that led to self-publication of This Little Rock We Call Earth in which she addresses our need to care for and protect all life on the planet. Current writing projects include a children’s illustrated story about black bears and a murder mystery set in a forested resort town somewhere in North America.

Wendie received the Muskoka YWCA Woman of Distinction for Arts, Culture and Creativity in 2014. Her greatest joy is living in Muskoka with her partner, best friend, constant support and encourager, Hugh Nichols
