Beverley Brewer’s training in life skills teaching methodology set the stage for her career and what was to follow. She completed her PhD at the University of Toronto and after teaching in the Ontario College system for 36 years, she moved to Muskoka and settled into a writing life.
Beginning with the short story and flash fiction, Bev transitioned to writing her psychologically character-driven novel, NO ONE KNEW. However life interrupted and drew her to a more personal project, DANCE INTO THE LIGHT, a memoir, published in 2023 by Blue Denim Press. In this memoir, Bev openly shares her vulnerabilities as she repeatedly attempts to rescue her younger sister. She candidly reveals life lessons learned as she moves beyond darkness. Her book embraces hope, love and healing.
After publishing her memoir, Dance into the Light, Bev returned to the task of revising No One Knew.
When she’s not writing, Bev sings in the Elderberries Choir, plays a lot of pickleball and kayaks whenever she can. In the winter months you’ll find her on snowshoes with her golden lab retriever. Along with her membership in an awesome critique group, Bev is an active member in the Muskoka Authors Association, has served on their executive and has stepped up to coordinate the Tall Pines Author Reading program.
Bev lives in the cottage her mom and dad built on Loon Lake.
