I was born in Saskatchewan and educated there (MD and PHD in biochemistry). In later life I became a radiation biologist and specialist in nuclear medicine. In midlife I often taught the principles of management of medical institutions in middle eastern countries (Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Gulf States and Sudan). Science writing was one of my basic activities including a decade as on the editorial board of the European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Medicine. In retirement I picked up on a long-latent interest in astronomy. Before and through the pandemic I helped to lead a science club in Woodstock. I relocated to Huntsville a year ago and am trying to fill the void of anonymity that now surrounds me. For my friends I write an occasional blog that is mostly about science but it can also deviate toward autobiography on occasion.
